Shorewood Hills Soccer Club
Shorewood Hills SC has teams for ages U6 through U10. For the upcoming soccer year (Fall 2023-Spring 2024), this includes the following age groups: 6U - kids born in Birth Year (BY) 2018 League play is in both the Fall (September and October) and Spring (April, May and June). Coaching Shorewood teams are primarily coached by volunteer parents. Parents of all players are encouraged to get involved. Please contact Janet at shorewoodhillsSC@gmail.com for more information on coaching. Team Practices Most teams practice in and around Shorewood Hills. Practice schedule is set by coaches and teams. Most teams practice once or twice a week on a weekday evening. League Games All league games are on the west side of Madison (fields such as Vilas, Midvale, Lucia Crest, Hoyt Park, Rennebohm, Middleton, Wingra and several fields near WestTowne mall). Most games are on weekends (Saturday and Sunday mornings but there are sometimes games on weeknights especially when games need to be re-scheduled due to weather, etc.). Fall games usually start up the weekend following Labor Day and end in early November. Spring season starts in mid to late April and ends in early June. Spring Season Information All teams that were formed in the Fall will stay together and play in the Spring 2024. Players currently on those teams will get information from the league and their coaches in 1Q 2024. Spring Soccer will start up when the fields are "playable" which is usually in mid-late April. New players can be placed on existing teams (first come, first served) if there is space on a team. If there are enough new players to form a new team, a new team can be formed. New teams are only formed if there are enough kids to form a new team (need to have enough kids to form a new team by mid January for the Spring season). Shorewood Hills will create new "Kinde" teams for kindergarteners who want to play soccer in Spring 2024 (there are always enough new Kinde kids to make at least one new team for the Spring season. Registration Deadline for Fall 2023 July 1st. Any registration received after July 1st will be charged a late fee of $25. Spring Registration Fee for Spring 2024 is $90. Any Kinde registration received after March 1 will be charged a late fee of $25 (and will run the risk of not getting on a team). Explanation for late fees: The number of teams is determined by how many kids are registered in June. Once the number of teams is set, a limited number of spots are available for "late registrations." Late registrations are not guaranteed a spot on a team. Late registration of kids who are new to the area will be given priority over kids who are returning players. |
