Junior Golf Program 2024

The Blackhawk Junior Golf Program has been one of the best in the state for decades. This year there is going to be a little more structure and blending of the history of the Blackhawk Junior Golf Program into a modernized junior golf program

The Registration Fee for Shorewood Hills residents to participate in the program is $210.00 per participant. Prices include golf instruction, golf, lunch and Blackhawk's famous cookies and lemonade.

Group Lessons will be held on Wednesday mornings in June, July and August: June 12, 19, 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, and the Junior Banquet on August 7.

Group Lesson Categories and Start Times:

Each class will have 45 minutes of instruction and then onto the golf course for 9 holes of golf. Range Rovers will play the 3 holes on the range. Each junior golfer is required to provide his/her own clubs, bag, golf balls and tees.

June 12- Orientation/explanation of equipment/set up fundamentals
June 19 - Putting/chipping/pitching/short game fundamentals - Balance & Believe 36 Day
June 26 - Short irons/full swing/alignment and set up
July 3 - Full swing/longer clubs and driver
July 10 - Long drive, chip and putt competition
July 17 - Putting/chipping/pitching short game fundamentals - Balance & Believe 36 Day
July 24 - Supervised Warmup - Club Championship Day (schedule TBD for this date)
July 31 - Fun Day
August 7 - Junior Banquet at 5:00 pm (no lessons this date)

Expectations and event descriptions: All juniors should arrive 15 minutes before their designated class time and check in on the range.. Juniors ages 9 and younger will need a parent, guardian or sitter to walk along on the golf course after instruction. The Country Club does require a dress code for both junior golfers and their guardians. Appropriate golf attire should be worn at all times on the golf course and practice areas:

  • Boys/Men: Tailored slacks or Bermuda length shorts with a golf polo with collar or turtleneck.
  • Not Permitted: Gym shorts or tennis shorts, tank tops, tee shirts, and jeans.
  • Girls/Women: Appropriate length golf skirts, Bermuda length shorts, tailored slacks with a golf blouse or polo.
  • Not Permitted: Halter or tank tops and jeans.

Items to bring each week: Water bottle, hat, sunscreen. Junior Club Storage is for members only.
