Village Horticulturist
The Village of Shorewood Hills (population 2,376) is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Village Horticulturalist. Shorewood Hills is a highly desirable community that is an inner ring suburb of Madison, Wisconsin’s capital city. The Village Horticulturalist will assist the Village Forester in the management of Village trees, parks, and public green spaces within the Village. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, rain garden and flower bed maintenance, landscaping and invasive species management, and administrative support.
Minimum job requirements include a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least two years of relevant work experience. Current pursuit of, or a degree in Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Arboriculture or Environmental Science or other related field is preferred and may be substituted for work experience. Experience with small engine tools, and light duty equipment is strongly preferred. The starting hourly wage for this position will be $20.00. The Village Horticulturalist position is a seasonal, part-time position, existing for the period of April-September. A full-time work schedule can be arranged for the summer months. This position does not include full-time employee benefits.
