Village Heritage Gallery

The Statz house was built about 1856 near the site of an early stone quarry. Joseph Statz was an early German immigrant who worked as a stonecutter. This photo was taken around 1909-1910. Although somewhat modified, this house is still recognizable; it stands at 3400 Tally Ho Lane. The quarry near this house is now a village park. Photo from Nancee Stephens Abrahamson.
