Welcome to the Department of Public Works Home Page. We would
like to keep you informed about what we do, who we are, and our pursuit
to better the quality of life in The Village of Shorewood
Hills.
DPW takes care of many aspects of the Village. The most obvious ones include brush collection, leaf collection, street maintenance including snow plowing, filling pot holes, small black topping repairs, street signs, and painting cross-walks. DPW also takes care of the sewer mains, water mains, water meters, garbage disposals, and reads water meters. We open the pool in the spring, winterize the pool in the fall, and do many of the mechanical repairs needed for operation of all the Village buildings. In the winter we setup and maintain the Ice Rink with the help of Village volunteers. We mow and maintain the parks and the Marina and Beach piers are repaired yearly. DPW has many tasks at which to always keep us busy. Follow the links on the left to view our webpages and check out our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for answers to the most common questions. |
